Carlos Augusto DuqueGraduated from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1986), M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (1989 and 1997) from the PUC-RJ and Post-doctorate from the Florida State University, FL – USA (2007-2008). He is currently Associate Professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. He works in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on signal processing, power quality, instrumentation and electronic systems. It has 15 articles in national and international journals, 73 in conference proceedings, 7 book chapters published in the book “Time-Varying waveform distortion in power systems’ (Wiley-IEEE Press – 2009), organization of a book, he has deposited two Brazilian Patents and one USA Patent.

Areas of Interest: Signal Processing, Power quality, Instrumentation and Electronic Systems.

Current work: Among the projects currently developing include the following:

  1. Development instrument for power quality monitoring;
  2. Development of synchronized PMU unity;
  3. Techniques for decomposition of signals and system for tracking harmonics with time-varying;
  4. Techniques for estimating the fundamental component and harmonics in the presence of DC components and inter-harmonics, for implementation in real-time control systems and protection of electrical systems;
  5. System for detection, classification, identification and location of disturbances and charges for analysis of power quality;
  6. Techniques of digital signal processing for smartgrid.
