The Biogeochemistry of Carbon and Mercury in the Amazon basin

Data: 10 de November de 2016

   The main objective of this project is to study the paths of carbon and mercury in the Amazon Basin.

    The project also aims to:

     1. Evaluate the effects of different sources of dissolved organic carbon (autochthonous and allochthonous) for heterotrophic bacterial metabolism (production and respiration) in different types of water (white, black and light);
     2. Evaluate the contribution of bacterial respiration to the levels of CO2 emission at the water-atmosphere interface;
     3. Compare bacterial metabolism in natural systems and reservoirs in different water types.
