Study of kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the water in Furnas Reservoir with drifters tracked by satellite: an approach considering the waterway’s scenario

   The main objective of this proposal is to generate knowledge regarding the horizontal dispersion of substances in Lake Furnas, in order to provide parameters that subsidize the safe and efficient management of the waterway under study.

 

   The specific objectives are:

 

   1. Generation of maps (intensity and average direction) for four phases of the hydrological cycle: full, maximum, ebb and minimum;

   2. Estimates of dispersion coefficient values, in these different phases;

   3. Study of the response to hydro-meteorological forcing;

   4. Identification of areas of convergence and divergence of flow.
