PhD in Chemistry from the Universidade Estadual Paulista and Université de Rennes (France) in the glassy and glass-ceramic materials, with emphasis on structural properties using X-ray absorption techniques, having also worked on classical molecular dynamics simulations on devitrification processes. Professor at UFJF, teaches courses in the areas of general and inorganic chemistry and glassy materials.

Presently is an Assistant Professor at the Departamento de Química, Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, where teaches undergraduate Physical Chemistry and graduate Molecular Spectroscopy. Experienced in Molecular Spectroscopy, specifically surface plasmon enhanced spectroscopies, SERS, LSPR and SEF, both from a fundamental point of view, as much as in the optimization of performance.

Prof. Dr. Celly Mieko Shinohara Izumi

Celly Izumi obtained her Bachelor and PhD degrees from University of Sao Paulo-USP (Brazil). She did postdoctoral research at University of Sao Paulo-USP (Brazil) and at University of Victoria (Canadá). In 2011-2013, she worked as Assistant Professor at Chemistry Department of Federal University of Sao Carlos (UFSCar). Her research interests include materials chemistry specially Raman spectroscopy of polymers and nanostructured materials. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Chemistry Department of Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora.
